Fair XIV
“I’m looking for an internship that’s based on my major. I want to have more experience to look for a job in the future. This will help work around my school schedule; while having a side job I can do and boost my expertise,” said Jasmine Berg-Oliver, an SSU student who walked across the length of the fair hoping to find an opportunity.
More than 150 organizations from the North Bay attended the fair in hopes of helping students with their career path as well as find someone as passionate as they are about their mission.

One of the non-profit groups in Sonoma County, Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) brought up how much she appreciated the fair. “I love the internship fair. I did it last year and we got the best intern we’ve ever had and we’re hoping to do that again.” Many organizations such as SAY were delighted with the number of students that showed up to the fair as well as visiting their table. Community partners were able to show opportunities for volunteering and internships, while the for-profit tables helped students looking for part-time jobs. This year, the Career Center teamed up with the CCE for the Seawolf Part-Time Jobs, Internships, and Service Fair.

An SSU Student, Eloisa Burke, said, “Being a junior, I wanted to start looking for internships. I know many graduate schools are looking for that in resumes. I am really excited about what my major has to offer; I want to go into internships that I can incorporate with my major. Internships are real-life experiences…any personal interactions will help me grow in the medical field.” Many freshmen students to graduating seniors walked around with curiosity to find what’s best for them to help build a stronger resume. The fair has continued to be a success for everyone.
