As I get further into my education and dive deeper into the issues of society, I can't help but wonder what is at the root of all of these problems. Is it possible that all these issues could be related? I believe the answer is yes.

"I think I'm more excited for college just by seeing how all these students feel about it," said Gisselle Alvarez from Roseland Collegiate Prep (RCP). At Discovery Day, RCP students learned how to get to college and what to expect.

It is because of the opportunities I have had thanks to higher education, and more specifically the CSU System, that make me so passionate about ensuring accessibility and affordability for others to attend college as well.

What happens when the director of the Gold Ridge 4C's Preschool and an SSU service-learning faculty member put their heads together? The result is a beautiful organic garden providing not only food, but also learning opportunities for preschoolers and college students alike.

I was so glad to see the amazing organization CalSERVES here on campus! I did not know about this organization, so I was very curious to learn about their activities.

"Would you like to join us for Just Coffee?," my supervisor asked. I said "yes," but had many questions about it. It sounded very ambiguous and I could not imagine what to expect.

The first day of my internship was very productive and interesting. I met my new supervisor at 8am on the first day of school to go to the very first Social Media Professionals Roundtable at the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County.

"It just amazes me every time how they've come up with these really great projects and integrated the service part with academics and then they're doing this with students who are five to thirteen years old and just their enthusiasm with doing the project.
