“We come from greatness. We come from a long line of strong Native and Indigenous people. I think it’s important that we remind ourselves of that,” said panelist Rose Hammock during the Community Conversations on Race.

The CCE’s Strategic Action Committee voted unanimously to change our mission statement, but not our mission. The change might be seen as minor wordsmithing, but it’s meant to be more inclusive and we know that language matters.

“It shouldn't take an act of heroism to vote in the U.S. in 2020,” said Dr. Cynthia Boaz while discussing her takeaways from the 2020 presidential election.

Just Coffee has returned! This was my second time attending Just Coffee after starting my fellowship with the Center for Community Engagement back in August. Typically Zoom has been a place for class and work meetings, but with Just Coffee, it’s a place to talk and form connections.

“There are so many issues, and if we unite and fight together, I think that would be so beautiful,” said panelist Leah Thomas during the Climate Justice = Social Justice event.

Sonoma State Political Science students took on the daunting task of breaking down the current California Ballot Measures in preparation for the upcoming election. Understanding propositions can be overwhelming to voters of all ages, Professor Dr.
