SSU student voting was up in last year’s election, increasing to 39.2% in 2018 from a rate of 16.9% in 2014.

“I am concerned about the environment, and I am really curious to see the congressman who is in charge of the situation on what is happening today,” said Euangelika Austin, an SSU freshman student learning about the climate issues before the Town Hall meeting started.

We are thrilled to welcome Alex Anderson to the Center for Community Engagement as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the City of Santa Rosa! Alex graduated in spring 2019 from SSU with a degree in Human Development and a minor in Sociology.

“I love working with students and seeing them connect service with their education; as well as learning about their community,” Natalie Frankel beamed.

The last twelve months have been filled with opportunities for growth and numerous challenges for our current VISTAs. It’s now time to reflect on our time working together; their time at the sites where they served, and to look toward the future.
