During Sonoma State's Earth Week, many really cool events took place surrounding sustainability practices. For example, there was a Stuff Swap where students could bring unwanted clothes, shoes, books, and other random goods to exchange for others' items.

Service-learning is when a person, or group of people, take the knowledge and educational goals that they have been learning about in class and apply it to some sort of community service or community engagement.

The Service & Internship Fair is a fantastic opportunity to promote your organization and recruit Sonoma State student interns and volunteers.

Dr. Jessica Hobson's PSY 302 service-learners have once again participated in Discovery Day, an event that gives Roseland University Prep students information about applying to college and what it's like to be a student.

An SSU student portrayed the essence of Book Buddies as, "Children are the future and their future is education. You can tell that these kids are eager to be creative.

On March 26, 2018, Dr. Jeremy Qualls presented a poster on his experience leading a service-learning class that utilizes the Makerspace on SSU's campus. Dr.

"People. The most powerful solution to climate change that exists." Dr. Karen O'Brien, a professor at the University of Oslo in Oslo, Norway was invited to Sonoma State University by the HUB to share her research on climate change.

Over the last twenty years, I've been to many conferences. I've done the big national and international conferences and the not so big local ones. Most of these conferences have been focused on physics, STEM education, or interdisciplinary sciences.

"I want to keep helping people and keep making relationships... be active, and keep helping the community." This is one of many positive takeaways Sonoma State students had after hanging out with Roseland Collegiate Prep (RCP) freshman for the day.
